Stronghouse Studios
The Stronghouse Studios and Gallery is an artist’s cooperative proudly funded and produced by TCAH, and devoted to the support and promotion of rising artists, as well as the surrounding community. Stronghouse features local artists’ studios in an independent, open, loft-like setting, featuring traditional painting, mixed media installation and design, and photography. The gallery showcases one of the cooperative’s emerging local artists each month. Stronghouse was created in 2005.
Hours and Location Stronghouse Studios is open every Thursday from 12:00 noon - 6:00 pm (closed in the off-season). Come and enjoy local artist’s work in a studio and gallery setting. Stronghouse is located at 283 South Fir Street, in Telluride's Historic District (one block south of Baked in Telluride).
Opening Receptions The first Thursday of each on-season month is reserved for an opening reception for a Stronghouse artist, from 5:00- 8:00 pm. Please mark your calendar and stop by to learn more about an emerging artist in Telluride!
Artists’ Studios and Workspaces We offer individual studio space, group studio space, a darkroom, and a music room. To rent a workspace, please contact sasha@telluridearts.org for cost and availability or click here for a general information sheet. You will be requested to fill out an application and email it to info@telluridearts.org, and then bring the application, along with a non-refundable $100 deposit (applicable to first month's rent) when you attend the Governance Committee's meeting the first Tuesday of every month. You must be interviewed by the Governance Committee to be a member of the cooperative.
Studios/Darkroom: If you are a working artist and would like to rent an individual space, or be part of the group space, or use the darkroom, please contact the Stronghouse Studios Manager for availability. If there is no availability, you may request to be added to a waitlist.
Music Room: Stronghouse is currently at full occupancy with the music room, where bands and musicians can practice.
