Telluride wins prestigious Honorable Mention Governors' Art Award!

Colorado Governor Bill Ritter is pleased to announce that Telluride is the recipient of the Governor's Art Honorable Mention Award, which recognizes a city or town that effectively employs the arts to enhance the quality of life and economic vitality of its community. Congratulations to Loveland for winning the overall Art Award, and Telluride for the Honorable Mention!  This is the first time an Honorable Mention award has recognized a town or city. "It is important that we remain, in state government, committed to inspiring artists and art communities... Art allows you to reflect on the past, express the present and really communicate with the future... it really is, at the end of the day, a vehicle for talking and learning about culture." - Governor Bill Ritter at the presentation of the Art Awards.
